Abstract

The article on the materials of the Ufa province of the beginning of the 20th century examines the participation of Muslim charitable organizations in the preparation and conduct of Sabantuy in an urban environment. It was concluded that thanks to their efforts, this holiday was enriched with new content. The annual holiday in honor of the beginning of spring field work has become not only an important element of the Tatar city culture, but also a landmark event in the life of the pre-revolutionary city. The article also provides information on the dynamics of the urban population and gives a brief overview of Muslim charitable institutions. The article is based on archival and published documents, statistics, periodicals and sources of personal origin.
