Abstract

This article examines the functioning of the Tatar (Turkic-Muslim) diaspora in the Ural (Yaik) Cossack army: its history, number of populanion, places of compact residence of its representatives, their military and civil service, some elements of their social life and relations with representatives of other ethnic groups and faiths and, in general, their role and place in the Ural Cossack army.
