Land management projects of the Orenburg military Cossack self-government in 1917–1918

Abstract

The article deals with the problems of solving the land issue in Russia during the period of revolutionary confrontation in 1917–1918. Of interest are the positions of all groups of the population, taking into account their estate, class, national composition, including the specific military-agricultural estate, which has a land fund assigned to the army, and the experience of self-government. The contradictory position reflected the desire to maintain control over the military territory in their own interests and to independently formulate the principles of “labor land use” that were relevant in the new conditions, with an undetermined nationwide position at that time.
