The family placement of the participants of the January uprising in Orenburg exile in 1863–1873

The article deals with the issues of family arrangement of the participants of the January uprising of 1863, who were deported to live under police supervision and settled on state lands of the Orenburg province. It is noted that 14% of the total number of persons who were under police supervision in the cities of the province arrived at their place of residence together with their family members – children, wives, husbands and nieces. It is indicated that almost every fifth of the natives of the Western Territory, settled in the Orenburg province, married a local resident. Some of the exiles acquired property and remained to live in the region.
