In the paper the main historiographic tendencies in the field of the history of higher pedagogical education in Soviet Russia are presented, as well as a review of articles presented by researchers from various regions of the Russian Federation following the results of the All-Russian Scientific Conference "Historical Experience in the Training of Pedagogical Staff in Soviet Russia", timed to the 100th anniversary of the Eastern Pedagogical Institute.
