The purpose of this work is to introduce into the research circulation documents about the nobiliary status of Bayazit Yaushev from the village of Verkhniye Erykly of Menzelinsky district of Orenburg province, presented by him to prove his eminent origin in 1832. The analysis of the document, along with the involvement of other archival sources, allows us to reconstruct the history of one of the famous Tatar princely families, to determine the evidence base necessary for approval in nobiliary status, to find out the features of the relationship between the Yaushev’s and their serfs.
