Abstract

The publication presents an unpublished article by N.V. Nikolsky dedicated to the Mari historical legends. The legend about the emergence and disappearance of the Mari village Aktayal is considered in detail. The article contains interesting ethnographic information about the life of the Mari in the pre-revolutionary period.
